Swap It: Dinner at the Keg

The Keg has a variety of steaks on the menu and all sound delicious. But which one is a smarter choice: Prime Rib with Mashed Potatoes or Sirloin Steak with baked Potato?

8 oz prime rib  with roasted garlic mashed potatoes,  frizzed onions and wine herb jus is 1291 cal / 86 g fat /35 gm saturated fat / 3084 mg sodium
Garlic mashed potatoes alone account for 380 cal, 22 g fat, 7 g saturated fat and 8 oz prime rib has 749 cal/56 g fat/26 g saturated fat/986 mg sodium

This is Equivalent to 25 oz of Planters peanuts in sodium or 2 ½ hours of pleasure skating

8 oz Sirloin steak served with parmesan baked tomato and baked potato is 836 calories / 22 gm fat / 10 gm saturated fat /  1068 mg sodium, where steak = 435 calories / 19 gm fat/9 g saturated fat and Baked potato = 363 cal, 33 mg Sodium

Reason
Prime rib has double the calories and 3 times the fat than sirloin steak.  The sodium also comes from the frizzled onions and the gravy.  The fat is over an entire day's worth and the saturated fat and sodium is 2 days worth.
