Canadians consume more than 6 tsp of added sugar in the morning which is half the Word Health Organizations daily maximum of 12 tsp daily. We should only have 2 tsp in the morning. Breakfast sets up our energy levels for the day. It affects our concentration and focus. The study done showed that those consuming excess sugar in the morning have afternoon sugar cravings, strong cravings for carbohydrates and seek out sweets after dinner; and have less energy when they wake up in the morning when compared to Canadians who claimed a lower sugar intake.
