Count Your Beer Calories

Summer living and beer go hand in hand. To avoid that beer belly keep this in mind:


* 12 oz regular beers contains around 150 calories and 5% alcohol with around 12 gms of carbohydrates
* Light beer has 100 calories with 4% alcohol and about half the carbs
* Draft beer has around 140 calories and is a lighter tasting beer, since it’s filtered
* Stronger beer liked porters and stouts have a higher alcoholic content – 9% and  about 189 calories and 16 gm of  carbs
* You can even find gluten free beers such as RedBridge and Bards which are comparable to regular beers – approx. 160 calories and 14 gm carbs
*

For those who don’t like alcohol the non alcoholic beers are great and only have 65 calories with about 14 gm of carbs. No matter what type of beer you consume  the calories and carbs can add up.
