Starbucks in the United States has decided to show their nutritionals on the menu board in all their 11,000 locations. Now you will know that there are 300 calories in a small Frappuccino and 230 calories in a small iced coffee mocha.
This all comes at a point when regulation is requiring restaurants with more than 20 locations to post calories on their menus
Starbucks has been a leading force by adding sugar free syrup in 1997 and making 2% milk the standard for core beverages in 2007. Customers can also reduce calories further by ordering non fat milk, sugar free syrup and no whipped cream
While other companies like McDonalds are already posting nutritionals the majority are waiting for the FDA to issue it’s final guidelines. Canada will hopefully be following in their footsteps.
