A study done at the Texas Christian University decided to replace the calorie counts on restaurant chain menu items with the numbers of minutes of brisk walking it would take to burn off the food.
The study was done with younger adults. The selected group got an option of ordering one of three fast food meals. One had no calorie count, one had calories listed and one had the number of minutes to walk off the meal.
The exercise menu group ordered foods that contained 100 fewer calories which showed its impact. .If you know you’ll have to walk 2 hours briskly to walk off the half pound burger and fries you might choose the chicken burger with a salad which would only take 30 minutes to burn off.
But remember to pack the sneakers!
