Pickle Barrel's Messy Face Sloppy Joe's

1. In a medium saucepan lightly coated with cooking spray, add the onion, garlic and oil. Sauté for 5 minutes or until the onion begins to brown. Add the beef and sausage and cook for 5 minutes or until no longer pink, breaking apart the meat with a wooden spoon.

2. Add the tomato sauce, dried basil and chili powder. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Garnish with Parmesan cheese and fresh basil.

1 cup finely diced onion
1 1/2 tsp finely chopped garlic
1 tsp vegetable oil
12 oz lean ground beef
4 oz spicy beef sausage, casings removed, diced
2 cups tomato sauce
1 1/2 tsp dried basil
1 tsp chili powder
Salt and pepper
2 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
2 Tbsp chopped fresh basil
